Rules
Revised

1) No
live bait will be used.
2) No
Trolling is allowed.
3) In
order to be weighed in, all fish must meet or exceed the legal lake
size
limit.
4) Only
Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass and/or Smallmouth Bass are allowed to be
weighed
in.
5) There
will be a penalty of loss of short fish and biggest fish, or 2 pound
penalty,
whichever is greater, for any fish weighed in that do not meeting the
legal
size limit.
a. Fish
will be measured using a Golden Rule, with mouth closed, tail closed.
6) All
fish must be weighed in by the tournament/weigh-in committee to be
eligible for
points.
a. If
weigh-in committee is not present, club officers will conduct the
weigh-in.
7) All
tournaments will begin at “Safe Light.”
“Safe Light” will be determined by the Tournament Director
for each
tournament.
8) Weigh-in
time will be determined at the meeting on the Tuesday night before the
tournament.
9) Launch
ramp, will be determined at the meeting the previous month to the
tournament.
a. Example,
April’s launch ramp will be determined at the March meeting.
10) Tournaments
will follow the Buddy Tournament format.
However, one member may fish solo, if a buddy is unable to
fish a
tournament. In
the event that one
member is left without a partner, inner-club substitutions may be made.
No one who is a
non-member will be allowed to
fish, unless they are an immediate family member to the club member. Any child 16 and under may
fish with member
no matter the relation.
a. Immediate
family member substitution is allowed only during the regular season. No substitutions will be
allowed for the
Classic.
b. Immediate
family consists of mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter,
brother-in-law, & sister-in-law.
c. During
inner-club substitutions, each members catch will count toward his/her
team.
11) Tournament
fees will be $40.00 per boat.
a. Big
fish pot is $10.00 optional per boat. (To qualify for big fish trophy
you must received
a check for big fish during regular season)
12) All
tournament fees must be paid at the Tuesday night meeting, prior to the
tournament. (No Rollovers)
13) There
will be no trailering of boats, or fishing from the bank, unless there
is
severe weather, or boat failure. In
the
event of mechanical failure, member may trailer the boat for repairs,
if time
permits. Members
that trailer a boat for
repairs, must notify a club officer, either by telephone or leaving a
note.
14) Tournament
Payout is as follows:
a. 1st
Place: $300.00 (1-7
Boats)
b. 2nd
Place: $150.00
(8-11 Boats)
c. 3rd
Place: $100.00
(12-15 Boats)
d. 4th
Place: $60.00
(16-19 Boats)
e. 5th
Place: $50.00 (20+
Boats)
f. Big
Fish:
Determined by how many boats pay into big fish pot per
tournament.
15) All
members must wear a life jacket when the boat is on plane.
16) Any
team that is late for the weigh-in will be penalized 1 pound per minute. After 10 minutes, the team
is disqualified.
17) Each
team or solo member is allowed to weigh in 5 fish.
18) There
will be an 8oz (1/2 pound) penalty for each dead fish.
19) During
the tournament, no boat is to be within 100 feet of another boat, who
is
anchored with the trolling motor up.
The
only exception is putting in and taking out, or in the event of a
mechanical failure.
20) No
alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the boat, at tournament sites,
or any
club meetings.
21) Dip
nets are allowed.
22) When
fishing with someone other than your partner, each member’s catch will
count
toward the team total.
23) Anglers
are allowed to fish with only one (1) rod at a time.
24) All
teams present at the meeting, and fishing the tournament on Saturday
will draw
numbers to determine blast-off order.
25) Teams
not present, but wishing to fish the tournament on Saturday will be
drawn out
by club officers, to determine blast off number.
These teams will follow all teams present at
the monthly meeting.
26) In
case of a tie for the Angler of the Year team based on points, highest
cumulative weight for the year will be used to determine 1st,
2nd
and 3rd places.
27) Teams
are no allowed to “Lock-through” for tournament purposes.
28) For
Federation tournaments, club check for 6-man team.
Winnings will be divided, 60% for the winning
team, and 40% to the club.
29) The
club will not fish any one lake more than twice in one season with the
exception of the classic.
Club
By-Laws
Revised
January 2008
1) The
club will be known as “Dixieland Bassmasters.”
2) Annual
membership will be $50.00 and will be distributed the following ways:
a. $15.00
will be for the club federation dues.
b. $35.00
will be for club functions, trophies, etc.
3) New
members must be approved by 100% vote of members, present at scheduled
monthly
meeting.
4) Members
must be present at monthly meetings for his/her vote to count in club
decisions.
5) All
club checks must be signed by one of the current club officers.
6) Grounds
for termination of club membership are as follows:
a. Dishonor
of club by-laws or tournament rules.
b.
Anyone
that deliberately causes problems among members.
c. Any
conduct that could be deemed as detrimental to the club.
7) Termination
of membership will be decided by majority vote.
8) Meetings
will be held on the Tuesday, before the scheduled monthly tournament. Meetings will be at 7:00
PM at Superior
Autocare in
9) Election
of officers will be held at the November monthly meeting. The tournament committee
will be selected by
the Tournament Director, as needed.
10) Officers
consist of:
a. President
b. Vice
President
c. Secretary
d. Treasurer
e. Tournament
Director
11) Trophies
will be awarded at the end of each year for 1st,
2nd, and
3rd place finishers in points.
Also, there will be trophies for big fish, and the team
who wins the
classic.
12) Tournaments
will be held on the second (2nd) Saturday of
each month beginning in
February and continuing through October.
13) All
tournament questions or complaints must be voiced at the tournament
site in the
presence of two club officers. Any
complaint not voiced in this manner will not be discussed.
14) All
club rules established at the November meeting are final and cannot be
changed
until the following November except for scheduling conflicts with the
state
tournament schedule which may be adjusted at the February meeting.
